How Good is the Vevor Meat Grinde

Hey y’all,

Craig here from With the Bickhams, back with a detailed review of our new Vevor Meat Grinder. If you caught our last blog post, you saw the unboxing and my first impressions. Well, now that I’ve actually used this beast, I’m ready to share my honest thoughts, complete with all the pros and cons. For the Vevor’s first trial run, we decided to make some home-ground bacon burgers. I used around 9 pounds of choice chuck roast with 1 pound of bacon. I figured this blend would be a great mix of beef and pork to make some juicy, flavorful burgers. Just a heads-up, when mixing in pork, always be sure you cook it to the right temperature for safety.

First Impressions: This Thing is a Beast!

Let me tell y’all, this machine is no joke. I showed y’all the unboxing in the previous blog post, but now that I’ve put it to work, here’s a detailed review with my honest thoughts and whether I like it or not!

Pros:

  1. Industrial Look and Feel: I love the industrial look and feel of this grinder. This isn’t some flimsy piece of equipment. It’s solid, well-built, and gives you that feeling of getting your money’s worth. It definitely exceeded my expectations.
  2. Super Quiet: One of the first things I noticed was how quiet this grinder is. It’s even quieter than my ice cream maker! For a machine with this much power, I was pleasantly surprised at how little noise it makes.
  3. Powerful Performance: This grinder is super strong. It made quick work of the ground chuck and bacon. I used the 1/4 inch grinding plate and ground the meat twice, and I was still done in about 15 minutes. It might look longer on the YouTube video, but trust me, it was fast and efficient. I was very impressed!

Cons:

  1. Potential for Rust: I’ve seen some folks complain about rust on some of the parts after use. My take on this, having worked in the oilfield offshore in saltwater, is that good cleaning is a must. It doesn’t matter what the parts are made of; if salt is involved, proper cleaning is essential. A little food-grade oil can go a long way to prevent rust. When I mention salt, I’m talking about adding seasoning to the meat while grinding. It’s true that not all parts of this machine are stainless steel. Some are just plated metal or machined with no coating, like most other grinders in this price range.
  2. Cleaning the T/Neck: The design requires the T or neck to be unbolted with three bolts for thorough cleaning. I didn’t do this because I found it easy enough to move the grinder by the sink, lean it over with something underneath the back, and use the sink sprayer, a scrub momma, and a fork to push the meat to the back of the T. It was pretty easy to clean this way, but I wish the design allowed for simpler disassembly.

That’s the only con I’ve found with the Vevor Grinder. Overall, I’m super excited about blending some great meat mixes with this machine. It gives us our own quality control, helps us save money, and allows us to enjoy some wonderful and healthier ground meat.
